When to seek counseling
Counseling should be considered when you are having trouble coping with a stressful situation or solving a personal
problem.  Counseling alleviates distress, feeling overwhelmed, and repeating he same mistakes.  Counseling offers a fresh
perspective, emotional guidance, and assistance finding answers.
More specifically, you may experience:
· emotional issues, such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, or substance abuse
· relationship issues, identity development, communication, anger or conflict
· crisis situations, such as suicidal thoughts,  rape, or the death of someone close.
· family issues, such as parenting difficulties, discipline problems, divorce, blended family issues, grief or loss, domestic
conflict, teenage issues, trouble with children, decreased satisfaction within the family.

How much does counseling cost?
Counseling is an investment.  It is an investment in your personal health.  When you don’t feel well physically, you seek a
doctor.  When you don’t feel well emotionally a counselor can also offer relief from pain and suffering.  Like any investment,
counseling costs money.  Try to think of counseling as an investment in yourself and in your family.  Most things that people
spend money for are usually for necessities or items to improve the quality of life, to increase pleasure or satisfaction. A
great deal of money spent in families is to feel better or "enjoy life."
Before deciding not to get counseling, you should also ask what is the cost of not getting counseling. People who are
depressed spend much more for health care.  Panic attacks are very expensive with trips to the emergency room.
Depression often costs trips to the doctor for exhaustion and not feeling well.  These trips often cost co-pays and on going
prescriptions that only alleviate the symptoms.  Restoration and Peace offers counseling services on a sliding scale.  This
means that fees will vary according to income and need.

How long does counseling take?
The length of counseling depends on the problems and the goals.  Often, situational problems may require only one or two
sessions.  More substantial crises or recurring problems in relationships usually take more time.

How do I get started?
Schedule a free initial assessment by calling us at 402.573.0858. In your first
session with a counselor you will discuss the reasons for your visit and make
an initial plan.  If that plan includes additional services outside our scope, we
will make appropriate referrals.

In Home Counseling
At times a traditional setting doesn't adequately address family dynamics.
In home counseling then becomes helpful.  Believing that the family setting is the
best place to resolve family issues, counselors go into family's home one-three
times per week to assist families in growth and overcoming difficulties.  Counselors identify and use the family's existing
strengths and resources by involving the family as a partner in the decision-making and goal-setting process.
I highly recommend Restoration & Peace if there is any area of your life that needs
restoration, healing, and is hindering you from experiencing the peace God has promised
us in His Word  - whether it be depression, anger, grief, addictions, struggles with your
past, your marriage, family, any relationship, etc.
